Settle in the UK as the Victim of Domestic Violence

Settle in the UK as the Victim of Domestic Violence

Who

If you are in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or settled person, and your relationship has broken down due to domestic violence, you may be able to apply under this route.

When

You should apply as soon as your relationship has broken down due to domestic violence, so that the Home Office can consider all the evidence whilst it is still recent. You should not wait until your partner visa has expired or been curtailed.

Where

You can apply for this route from within the UK

What

You must be able to demonstrate that your last grant of leave was as the partner of a British citizen or settled person, and that your relationship with that person has broken down due to you being a victim of domestic violence from either that person or their family or both. If you have a criminal record, or you provide any false or incomplete information to the Home Office your application may be refused.
