INTRODUCTION

Ragvesh is a Solicitor in England and Wales and an Advocate in India. He holds a LL.B. from Delhi University and a Masters in International Business from Delhi School of Economics.

QUALIFICATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS

Ragvesh’s areas of expertise are infrastructure, arbitration and particularly construction arbitration, indirect tax litigation and advice, civil litigation and public law related litigation. He is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
Ragvesh specialises in general civil and commercial litigation both in the United Kingdom and India, International arbitration with seats based in London, Singapore and India.
Ragvesh has over 19 years of experience in India as a lawyer in the fields of International arbitration, company law litigation, indirect tax litigation (Customs, Excise, VAT, Service Tax, Anti-Dumping) and claims. He has practised extensively in Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi and Tribunals. He has worked closely with some of the most eminent lawyers and reputed law firms in India.
He has successfully defended three out of the seven arbitrations (Nil award in one and awards less than 5% in the other two. Two of the remaining four were settled before the completion of proceedings). He has been involved in drafting pleadings and advocacy on arbitration matters for NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) (the highest Claim being 1.99 billion INR) and GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited) (where stakes were over 300 million INR), pertaining to road construction and gas supply disputes.
He has handled numerous cases pertaining to oppression and mismanagement (unfair prejudice) and minority shareholder actions before the Company Law Board, civil courts, High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India. Some of the significant tax cases handled by him and reported in law journals are Syed Ali Vs. Union of India, A&G Projects Vs. State of Karnataka, Advance Ruling for Customs for Harley Davidson, Service Tax on transfer of money in CESTAT (Customs Excise Service Tax Appellate Tribunal) for agents of Western Union.

Before joining KTS Legal, Ragvesh was working as a partner at a law firm in New Delhi assisting in several prestigious litigations in Arbitration Law, Tax laws, Companies Act, Environmental Law, Electricity Act, Bombay Stock Exchange Regulations and Securities and Exchange Board of India Act.

He was on the panel of lawyers representing Cement Corporation of India, National Highways Authority of India, Steel Authority of India Ltd, National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, National Thermal Power Corporation and Gas Authority of India Limited.
